Exploitative:
The exploitative orientation expects to obtain what is needed by taking it from others. Fromm associated it with qualities such as assertive, proud, and captivating in healthier forms, and aggressive, conceited, and seducing in more extreme forms.
Hoarding:
The hoarding orientation emphasizes keeping and possessing. Fromm associated it with qualities such as steadfast, economical, and practical in healthier forms, and stubborn, stingy, and unimaginative in more extreme forms.
Marketing:
The marketing orientation emphasizes presenting, packaging, and "selling" oneself successfully to others. Fromm associated it with qualities such as purposeful, youthful, and social in healthier forms, and opportunistic, childish, and tactless in more extreme forms.
Productive:
The productive orientation represents Fromm's healthy personality. It emphasizes freedom and responsibility, reason, love without overwhelming the individual, and living without a mask.
